  11. Copy Editing Novels – AUTHORS – Copy-editing novels prior to printing. As an established converter of novel to screenplays, I notice that the editing of the novels I work on should have had previous attention before going to print. It’s surprising how often I am editing mistakes that should have already been spotted – missed question marks/capitalization/commas/full stops, lengthy sentences, misuse of grammar, and yes – the dreaded there/they’re/their and your/you’re.

    Our service includes:

    • checking and correcting – grammar, spelling, capitalisation, missed question marks, lack of commas, use of italics.
    • sentence construction – shortening sentences that are too lengthy by rewording/rephrasing them.
    • suggestions in chapter structure and overall plot where necessary
    • Paragraphing and character paragraphing. The narrator only has access to what that character has access to.

If you are considering self publishing, then this is an essential service to ensure that your manuscript is perfect before printing – after all, there is no turning back after that. GBP£6.00 per 1,000 words. Minimum fee of £50

1. Script writing

A popular service is providing professionally Formatted Screenplays/Stage Plays from ideas, loglines, synopses or treatments. You won’t have to worry about whether your script is industry standard, formatted correctly or has the correct page count, as this will all be provided. Your story will be structured with scenes that carry the story forward, the dialogue will be drama driven, the action will thrust your protagonist into a series of thrilling challenges, the chase intense yet paced, the clarity coherent and intelligible and the conflict will motivate and shape the action of the plot.

All you have to do is send us your idea, synopses, treatments, notes or rough drafts and we will turn them into professionally formatted industry standard screenplays. All creators will remain the owners and named writers of their own screenplays unless suggested otherwise. Contracts are provided. Turnaround takes approximately 2 – 6 months depending on subject matter. From GBP£500.00

2. Novel to Industry Standard Screenplay Adaptations

If you own the rights to your own novel or ebook and would love to see it turned into a TV series, drama or film – you can have them adapted into professionally formatted industry standard screenplays. Julie currently has three novel to industry standard screenplays in pre-production and will be able to help and guide you when attaching production, finance and distribution once the adaptation is complete. Turnaround takes approximately 4 – 6 months. From GBP£800.00 NOW GBP£700.00

3. Script Reads/Critique

Have you written a screenplay and want to know if it meets all the criteria for a professional submission? We will read and guide you on the concept, structure, pacing, dialogue, conflict, clarity and characters of your screenplay and present you with valuable and positive advice before that initial submission. Turnaround takes approximately 1 – 2 weeks. From GBP£70.00

4. Script Report/Analysis

For legal reasons, it can be considered unprofessional to send a script on your initial pitch and most recipients won’t even look at your hard work.

One professional approach is to send a script report/analysis for your recipient to read. Our service will highlight the very best elements of your screenplay and your talents. Turnaround takes approximately 1 – 2 weeks. From GBP£70.00

5. Formatting

Formatting is a very important process to writing a screenplay and can immediately determine a rejection or consideration at first glance. First impressions are important. A good script may not even get read by a professional if it’s presentation is not industry standard. Why waste your only opportunity to get it right? Part of our service is to professionally format rough drafts using Final Draft – the number one software choice and  screenwriting software in the world. Turnaround takes approximately 1 – 2 weeks. From GBP£70.00

6. Editing

Editing is vital. Not only for common typos – for example they’re/there/their – your/you’re – who’s/whose – could have/could of – or confusion of verbs and nouns like affect and effect. Missed question marks, lack of commas and misuse of apostrophes make a good story look messy. Grammar is essential and should be consistent. Turnaround takes approximately 1 – 2 weeks. From GBP£70.00

7. Treatments

A Treatment is brief description of each scene throughout the screenplay with an average of about ten to forty pages and only have the essential and important story events that make up the scenes. It consists of full-scene outlines put together. These are different to a synopsis because the synopsis covers the storyline, whereas a treatment is an overview of what is expected to happen throughout a scene. It’s not unusual to be asked for one of these. GBP£60.00 – From GBP£200.00

8. Synopses

A screenplay synopsis summarizes a screenplay for a reader such as an agent, director, producer or actor. If the reader likes the synopsis, he or she may ask to see the complete screenplay. Unlike a treatment, which consists of full-scene outlines put together, a synopsis includes only the most important characters and interesting events that carry the story forward. However, a synopsis must clearly show the necessary elements of the screenplay so the reader will know that you understand how to structure a script and whether putting a question mark at the end of a synopsis is right or wrong. From GBP£70.00

9. Writer’s Block

Writer’s Block is a creative blockage where your story comes to a standstill because your ideas have – yet you have around 40 pages left to fill. It’s a worrying concept, but your story can survive this dreadful pitfall. It’s not the end of the world and it certainly isn’t the end of your story. We can help you create new nuances and engaging scenarios, take another path, open another door – but most importantly – finish that screenplay. From GBP£30.00 – GBP£100.00

10. Marketing

So you’re delighted and more than just a little bit excited with your completed screenplay. It’s professionally formatted and structured. The dialogue is drama driven and the action thrusts your protagonist into a series of thrilling challenges. The chase is intense and paced, the clarity is coherent and intelligible and the conflict motivates and shapes the action of the plot. So what’s next? Marketing your screenplay takes just as much professionalism as it does to write it. First impressions count. Presentation means everything. Begging gets you nothing.

On your behalf, I will submit to current agents, producers, directors and actors to get your screenplay noticed. I will also make an info package that summarises the project. Please note: I am not an agent, manager or representative, therefore I do not take a percentage of anything you earn after this. This is a payment for a service. GBP£200.00
